Sony Digital SLR Cameras
Entry-level
- Sony Alpha DSLR-A230
Good entry-level camera, possibly the best value for money in this segment - Sony Alpha DSLR-A330 (black, with 18-55mm lens)
Though it’s an entry level model, DSLR-A330 offers a Live View technology among other features that make it a very solid camera. However, some find it quite similar to DSLR-A230 in terms of performance and much more expensive in terms of price.
Midrange
Though not as widely used by photo fans as Canon or Nikon models, Sony SLR cameras are certainly very much worth a consideration. Here are some of the examples of the SLR models Sony have in this segment.
- Sony SLT A33
- Sony NEX 5N
One of the most feature-packed midrange SLR cameras around, it allows shooting videos in a 1080p resolution, offers tilting touch-screen and a large APS-C sensor.
Professional
As for any Sony product, professional SLR cameras are quite expensive compared to competition, but they make sure you get some of the best new features around. Sony’s proto flagship is Sony Alpha DSLR-A900. It can be a good solution for someone who’s never used a pro-level camera before. You have to be aware Sony Alpha DSLR-A900 has a very high resolution sensor, so it requires a truly sharp and fast lens that can prove to be quite costly.
